The TIT Komárom-Esztergom County Association and the Slovak Central Observatory implement the STARS CONNECT US project "Stars connect us - astronomy without borders" within the framework of the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary Cross-Border Cooperation Program.
The main goal of the project is to strengthen and further develop the long-term cooperation between the two most important observatories in the border region of Komárom-Esztergom County and Nitra County, the Slovak Central Observatory in Hurbanovo, and the Posztoczky Károly Observatory and Museum in Tata, owned by the TIT Komárom-Esztergom County Association, and the renovation and expansion of the Posztoczky Károly Observatory.
An important part of the project is to make astronomy even more attractive to the general public by organizing public conferences, astronomy student competitions, outdoor telescope demonstrations, and interactive exhibitions.
