Thanks to the project with a budget surpassing € 400,000, the everyday working conditions of the professionals and volunteers working at the bird ringing station have significantly improved.

Content

The project entitled „Birds without Borders" (SKHU/1601/1.1/065), implemented by the Aggtelek National Park Administration and the State Nature Conservancy of the Slovak Republic (Štátna ochrana prírody Slovenskej republiky) as part of the Interreg V-A Slovakia - Hungary Cooperation Programme, has finished. In the joint project started in November 2017, numerous new items have been procured for the purposes of the Bódva Valley Bird Ringing Station. Thanks to the project aimed at the development of ornithological research and presentation activities with a budget surpassing € 400,000, the everyday working conditions of the professionals and volunteers working at the bird ringing station have significantly improved. 

The Bódva Valley Bird Ringing Station is active on the banks of the Bódva river between Szalonna and Perkupa, Hungary, during the autumn migration season from mid-August to the beginning of November, each year. The experts of the station shall organise multiple press conferences to inform the interested about the results of the project and the expected outcome and about the fact they welcome friends of wild birds at the site also this year.
