European Regional Development Fund
The cross-border microregion covered by the project is characterized by low level of distribution of local products. This is partly due to low production capacities and underdeveloped distribution networks. This project tries to address both aspects of the problem. On the one hand, the capacity of the honey and fruit-processing plant of the Nature Products s.r.o. (Ipeľský Sokolec) will be significantly increased by the new pasteurising and packaging production line that will be purchased within the framework of the project. Due to this development, not only will the quality and quantity of products be increased, but four new jobs will also be created. On the other hand, BDIVE will create 3 new delivery points (in Nagymaros, Letkés and Bernecebaráti) completing the existing one in Szob where consumers can access local products. In addition, 5 workshops for children and adults will also be held that can increase the consumers’ awareness and introduce them to the values of local products. The two activities implemented in the project complement each other organically. The production capacities will develop on the Slovakian side of the border, but the distribution of the products will also be promoted by the activities carried out on the Hungarian side (delivery points, information workshops). The project therefore serves directly and indirectly the objectives of the TAPE; thanks to the increasing economic activity, due to the new jobs, the livelihood of residents can be stabilized as well as increasing the standard of living of people in the region with helping them get fresh and healthy local products.
