In June of 2023 the ‘Infrastructure and attractiveness improvement of cross-border equestrian leisure sport in the Danube Bend area in Slovak-Hungarian cooperation’ project was completed, the Hungarian Lázár Lovaspark Egyesület in Domonyvölgy and the Slovakian Czajlik Ranch Lovasklub in Dunajsky Klatov realized it together in the framework of Interreg V-A Slovakia – Hungary Cooperation Programme. The total budget of the project was 493.650,30 €.

The project’s overall aim was to increase attractiveness, and subsequently the popularity and guest turnover of equestrian tourism in the area between Domony (HU) – Dunajsky Kaltov (SK) covering the wider cross-border territory of the Danube Bend. Lázár Lovaspark Sportegyesület in Domonyvölgy implemented a high-quality equestrian tourism infrastructure development, both to increase local tourism and to promote cross-border horse riding. An equestrian tour centre was created with a horse stable, additional tourist services and an equestrian tour information point.

A horse solarium was purchased. Horse solariums are able to improve the well-being of horses effectively and efficiently. These solariums are often used before and after training of horses to warm-up and prepare the back muscles of the horses. What is more, a solarium is good for drying off the horses being trained in damp or wet weather conditions. A training camp for driving athletes was also organized in Lázár Lovaspark within the project.

Within the project two international driving events were organized in Dunajsky Klatov, one of them was a selection event for a World Championship which was the only one of this type in Slovakia, moreover, with the purchase of a tractor they expanded the equipement for maintance of the competition arenas, tracks.

This project was supported by the European Union and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
