The project RE-STRUCTURING focuses on a significant deficiency in the Lower Ipel Valley, specially the lack of adequate living accommodation for elderly. Through the transformation of the chosen abandoned buildings into institutions providing social and support services for elderly in Chľaba, Salka and Szob, the target area will have three modern centres for eldercare even by providing them accommodation and 24 hours care or by offering them daily social services. Transformation and modernization of abandoned buildings in Kemence, Bernecebaráti and Ipolydamásd will provide the infrastructural background of shared services. As a result, 3 abandoned buildings will be renovated and equipped to launch social and elderly care enabling the launch of cross border social care network as well as recreational services, infrastructure for 1 social kitchen and 1 laundry will be developed enabling the launch of cross border shared services, and 1 building will be transformed to education centre hosting the bilingual trainings.
Through the infrastructural development, the project prepares the capacities for high quality social and elderly care system of the target area benefiting seniors and related institutions. Furthermore, the project provides job opportunities for the unemployed or freshly graduated people, since the social service centres and related facilities will need trained staff for taking care of the elderly.
