Two temples, one heritage

The aim of the project is to highlight the ecclesiastic cultural heritage located in the border area as a little-known element of tourism. It is made up of churches and sacral monuments, which have the potential to increase tourism.

The main line of the project will be revitalization of these buildings - reconstruction and investments in two churches and reconstruction of 3 small sacral monuments in the towns of Bratislava and Mosonmagyaróvár. As a result, they will become new points of interest at the border region. Linking of the revitalized monuments will be the creation of the Path of Early Christian Saints, the remains of whom are buried in temples throughout the border region. The path will be a new product of tourism. It will be based on an online platform with a digital map and a database of religious monuments in the region. The path of the early Christian saints will bring information about sacral monuments as well as about saints. It will allow you to plan visiting them and obtain interesting information. Pilgrimage and tourist routes will be created between the churches.

Another element of the project will be new ways of promoting the ecclesiastic cultural heritage. Leaflets, a website, an online digital map, as well as information kiosks and 3D views of temples will be a modern form of addressing the general public. Citizens and visitors to the region will gain a new perspective on religious monuments. The professional public will also benefit from the project in the form of professional events, where the project will bring a view of cultural monuments and the issue of their restoration and access to the public. The implementation of the project will help to address new target groups and develop elements of not only spiritual but also commercial tourism. The creation of a new tourist offer with a center in two revitalized temples will connect the border region and help promote religious monuments and highlight them.
