9th Be smart startup competition

The Budapest Enterprise Agency (BEA) consortium leader organized the 9th Be Smart competition under the aegis of which one part was dedicated to the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary Cooperation Programme’s EYES project. The awarded startups of the competition won the opportunity to exhibit at the Budapest Startup Forum and participate in the competition at the international think.BDPST Start-up Expo on the 4th-5th April, 2019.

The jury selected 18 startups under the aegis of the international competition which includes those 6 startups who was selected under the aegis of the project (3 Hungarian, 3 Slovaks).

The EYES project is implemented between September 2017 – April 2019. 
The specific aim of the EYES project is to make the Slovakian-Hungarian border region a more cohesive and competitive one by improving employment opportunities and supporting institutional and people to people cooperation. The main aim of the EYES project is to enhance cross-border coopeation of the partners and the promotion of the co-operation opportunities in the programme area by exchanging of good practices and experiences in developing, emerging young entrepreneurs in Slovakia and Hungary with the help of innovative business development models (3D virtual platform is included). The idea is to develop and implement a complex out of the box education method which could be multiplicated in both countries and even beyond. Stakeholders and civil society will contribute as well in order to reach a critical mass of youth. Number of cross-border events will be organized including competitions for startups/innovative project idea owners and the main result will be youth on both side of the border with entrepreneurial spirit and skills.
