The 9th Be Smart competition will be organised by the Budapest Enterprise Agency (BEA).
Under the aegis of the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary Cooperation Programme’s EYES project, the Startups awarded in the competition will win the opportunity to exhibit at the Budapest Startup Forum and participate in the competition at the international think.BDPST Start-up Expo on the 4th-5th April, 2019.
Content
12: 30 - 12:45 Arrival time of the competitors.
13:00 – 13: 50 3 minutes English pitch presentations of the Slovak startups.
Every judge member will receive the list of the Slovakian companies with basic information. The Slovakian competitors present their 3 minutes English pitches one by one. After every pitch there is a possibility to make them questions about their projects. After each performance the judge members have to give a score to each company from 1 to 10.
13:50 – 14:00 Summarizing of the given scores and decision making of the jury.
Judging criteria is not fixed, but the main decisive factors are based on:
- how disruptive the idea is,
- international growth opportunities of the startups,
- and chances to realize the project with the actual staff and assets.
14:00 – 17:00 3 minutes English pitch presentations of the Hungarian startups.
17:00 – 17:30 Decision making of the jury.
Notification of the winners on the week of the 11th of February 2019.

Contributions by the project consortium members to 6 winners (3 Hungarian and 3 Slovak):
- free exhibition and presentation at the Startup Budapest Forum on the 4th April, 2019
- free exhibition and presentation at think.BDPST Start-up Expo on 4th-5th April, 2019
- participation in the international startup competition within the framework of think.BDPST on the 5th April, 2019
Contribution by the 6 winner startups:
- presentation materials, publications, prototypes and all relevant information for the exhibitions

- no restriction, but preference for smart home, mobility and cybersecurity solutions
