European Regional Development Fund
The main objective of the project is to benefit more from the rich cultural heritage of Győr, Dunajska Streda and the region by improving the cities’ cultural repertoire.
Representatives of the most significant cultural and entertainment stakeholders from the two cities Győr and Dunajská Streda, established a Cultural Action Group (CAG) which will develop a common cultural action plan on how to optimise and broaden the cultural repertoire of the western cross-border region and the given circumstances of the existing festivities. EGTC’s experts in the field of tourism take part in these activities as well, which can result in jointly organized, eye-catching events promoting each of the partners in the cooperation.
Through the cross border cooperation cultural and leisure excursions could be connected, as Győr is the closest city to Dunajská Streda, having a broad cultural programme, whilst Dunajská Streda can offer rich variety of outdoor activities. By combining these two both cultural and natural heritage can be promoted and benefited by the visitors. The attraction of more visitors leads to an increase of employment in the region, providing better living circumstances for locals, resulting in stronger connections to their residence.
As a result of the planned developments there would be modular online platform created addressing local communities. The goal of the platform is to inform the visitors of the region about its natural and cultural treasures, which can result in the promotion of cross-border cooperation and in growth of the number of visits and longer stays within the region as a whole.
