The goal of the joint Slovak-Hungarian project is to make the tourist attractions at the river Bodrog and its tributaries more attractive and to make the waterways, bicycle trails and horse-riding trails available to the public by creating the natural, artificial and IT infrastructure necessary for all of this.
This project aims at the development of a comprehensive attraction package built on active eco-tourism performed on the 80 km cross-border section of river Bodrog and its tributaries between Tokaj (HU) and Oborín (SK).
The direct goal of the project is to make the tourist attractions at the river Bodrog and its tributaries more attractive and to make them available to the public by establishing waterways, bicycle trails, horse riding trails and by creating the natural, artificial and IT infrastructure necessary for all of this.
Its elements are the following:
The long-term goal of this complex development to significantly increase the number of visitors of the area and the time they spend there. As a result of the project, tourists visiting the area are offered services based on water as a connecting element, preserving the natural and cultural values of the border area, utilising the territory in a sustainable way.
