During the implementation of the project, we renovated the equipment of public kitchens in a total of 15 settlements in the EGTC area of the Ipoly Valley. From the project, we bought kitchen appliances, small appliances, large appliances, ventilation equipment, dining room furniture, and kitchen furniture. In two smaller settlements, we installed completely new kitchens for the target group.
On the Slovak side, it was not possible to transport the elderly to the doctor, so we bought 2 7-passenger cars from the project, which are equipped with lifting arms for the immobile. With these vehicles, we can provide medical visits to the elderly residents of the EGTC area.
Within the framework of the project, we organized workshops, study tours, and brainstorming sessions, in which we involved the elderly population, giving them the opportunity to incorporate their needs into the elderly care strategy. In addition, we involved already active pensioner associations and groups in the preparation of the strategy.
During the study trips, we were able to get to know good practices, and in Kecskemét, CédrusNet expands the activities of the aging age group with a new approach, thus giving them guidance on how to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the new life. Their most famous services are the HírösNagyik and the Time Visitors system.
During the field trip to Ipolynyék, it was revealed that cultural events involving the elderly have a long tradition. The CSEMADOK foundation plays a prominent role, providing a framework for, among other things, amateur acting and choirs, but also provides cultural programs for people living in the surrounding settlements. The settlement has a well-organized club for the elderly, which actively represents the interests of the settlement's elderly population.
By implementing the project, we significantly contributed to improving the quality of life of the elderly population living in the EGTC area of the Ipoly Valley.
