European Regional Development Fund
Thanks to a cross-border partnership between the Slovak municipality of Svodín and the Hungarian town of Nagymaros and the municipality of Bajót, local initiatives to promote the sale of local products have been supported. The country house in Svodín, which also serves as a community centre for traditional events and a craft camp, has been expanded with new elements. The new building will host a market with local products in the courtyard of the country house and, thanks to new toilets, a pavilion for 12 people and an outdoor oven, traditional events can also be organised. On the Hungarian side, the investments meet the objective of developing the infrastructure for the sale of local products through a new market place in the village of Bajót and the renovation of the sanitary facilities for visitors to the busiest market place in the Euroregion in Nagymaros. The direct total area of the newly built and renovated marketplaces is 383,3m2. In the case of Svodin, the newly constructed premises also include a showroom where traditional professions can be presented. A multifunctional building has been built in Bajót, which can also be used for community events.
The physical infrastructure for local products within the Euroregion has been expanded through the implementation of the project activities, resulting in improved and expanded sales conditions for local producers. At the same time, new sub-regions have been integrated into the cross-border network.
