Harmonious cooperation guided the whole workflow of the TPLAB project supported by the Interreg V-A Slovak-Hungarian Cooperation Programme, which has produced forward-looking results through digitisation. The developed territorial data and information platform is available in Hungarian, Slovakian and English languages, with local service offices in Győr and Bratislava to support the use of the application.

The aim of the development is to better connect the two sides of the border, to provide online access to data and information and to support and coordinate spatial planning and decision-making. The planning area of the 16-month joint project covered the counties of Bratislava and Trnava on the Slovak side and the county of Győr-Moson-Sopron on the Hungarian side. The Hungarian partners in the development project are the leading partner Lechner Knowledge Centre and the West-Pannon Nonprofit Ltd., while the Slovak partners are the Spatial Planning Institute and the Technical University of Bratislava.

A useful and impressive system  has been created, supported by two local service offices called Living Labs in order to reach the people. The main function of the Győr Living Lab is to provide advice and information, while the main function of the Living Lab in Bratislava is education and knowledge sharing. The online availability of information helps spatial coordination, also the evidence-based decisions contribute to a stronger link between valuable natural areas and the urban landscape. The work has focused on creating a new joint service rather than mirror projects on both sides of the border. The TPLAB partnership recommends the newly developed application to decision-makers, planners and professionals, representatives of local authorities, academics andstudents of spatial planning and geospatial information, NGOs involved in the protection of environmental assets, and investors looking for a location or a development target area.
