The Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary Cooperation Programme has launched its first call for proposals (CfP) on 29th July 2016. Five specific objectives (SO) in three priority axes (PA) were opened with the submission deadline on 3rd November 2016.

PA1 - Nature and culture

Specific objective 1.1 - Increasing the attractiveness of the border area

PA 2 - Enhancing cross-border mobility

Specific objective 2.1 – Increasing the density between border crossing points along the Hungarian-Slovak border
Specific objective 2.2.1 – Improving cross-border public transport services
Specific objective 2.2.2 – Improving cross-border logistic services

PA 4 - Enhancing cross-border cooperation of public authorities and people

Specific objective 4.1 – Improving the level of cross border inter-institutional cooperation and broadening cross border cooperation between citizens


Info days

After launching the call the Joint Secretariat of the programme organized Info days in cooperation with the self-governing regions and county governments, who are also voting members of the Monitoring Committee, as well as other external partners who has extended professional network in the field of cross-border cooperation. Altogether 14 info days were organized, 6 in Slovakia and 8 in Hungary, with more than 700 interested potential applicants.


Call for proposals

The programme received altogether 348 applications. 346 were submitted by the given deadline, 3rd November 2016. Two applications were rejected because the Lead Beneficiary missed the deadline.

It is very obvious that there is a huge interest for the development of the Slovak-Hungarian border area via the Programme. The indicative ERDF amount available under the present Call was 67 475 822 EUR. The total ERDF amount requested by the applicants is more than 4 times higher than the available (298,42 mEUR).

The evaluation process is ongoing even at this moment. The admissibility assessment of the applications was finalized 15 days after the submission deadline. The formal check shall be finished in December 2016. Completion letters are sent out via postal service. After receiving the completions from the partners we will move on to the eligibility check and finally to the quality assessment. Results and contracting with the selected projects are foreseen in the first half of the year 2017.
