In the framework of a cross-border project, Slovak and Hungarian partners wish to link the water and cycling natural experiences of the unique natural area bordered by the Little and Moson-Danube. The partners of the Bike & Boat Interreg V-A project agreed on the tasks of positioning the eco-tourism destination as a single brand in a three-day study tour and workshop in Lipót in the past few days. Touristic and marketing professionals from both sides support the brand building process - said the Managing Director of GD Consulting.

In the course of the work, the delineation of brand messages included, among others, the Land Danube Delta, the Danube Heart, The Land of Fairies concepts, but the decision on a single brand message has not yet been made, since the brand elements should be well-interpretable not only in Slovak and Hungarian territories, but should also be able to address the target groups in the other sending countries of Europe (Czech Republic, Austria, Germany). During the Lipót meeting, representatives of the Hungarian host Mosonmagyaróvár City Council presented some of the unique touristic products and programs of Szigetköz to the project partners from Bratislava, Trnava and Nyitra counties.

The participants of the forum visited the Eco Park of the Trout Circle Association in Dunasziget and discovered the city of Mosonmagyaróvár through its water system. The total budget of the Bike & Boat project is nearly EUR 3 million, which contributes to increasing the attractiveness and the number of visitors of the Danube border region on both the Slovak and Hungarian side of the Danube. Within the frame of this project, construction works of embarkation and disembarkation points to support water tourism will start in 25 settlements of the Szigetköz in the autumn of this year.
